Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 |
This was the first year of the ZR-1 series and
at the time it was built, it was the fastest production
car in the world, designed to run 178 mph! The
engine was engineered by Lotus for GM and produced
by Mercury Marine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is the
first car designed with a separate key for “full
power” operation. Under normal operation,
it produced 225 hp and drove like a well-tamed
sports car. Under full power, it produced a whopping
375 horses and full 32-valve operation. This beauty
has both tops, and only 34,900 miles, with a heavy-duty
Borg Warner 6-speed transmission. |
